Christian Education: Adult
On the pathway of learning, St. Andrew's offers Christian education for adults with the goal of creating community, connections, and growing in our faith together. Join us to explore past and present thinking about the church and world, society and culture, science, environmentalism, and more.
Recent programs have included:
community conversations about racial justice, climate change, and immigration
parish forum on embracing prayer in everyday living
a book discussion of The Language of God: A Scientist Presents Evidence for Belief by Francis Collins.
a book discussion of The Book of Joy: Lasting Happiness in a Changing World by His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Archbishop Desmond Tutu.
Parishioners have the opportunity to participate in the following:
Episcopal 101 Class - If it’s been a few years since your confirmation, or you have never been confirmed or baptized, this is the class for you! We discuss topics such as Anglican history and polity, Bible and worship, prayer and spirituality. Although this class is for everyone, it can also serve as preparation for being officially received into the Episcopal Church. Class provided based on demand.
Seasonal Scriptural study - Group discussions on scriptural themes in person and on Zoom during the seasons of Advent and Lent.
GOSPEL TALK Email/Online Discussion Group - The Gospel Talk group continues each week. Matt Hickcox kindly uploads the scripture passage and delivers it via email to those that wish to read and comment on the lessons. Even if you never choose to comment and just want to reflect on the week's lessons privately, feel free to join the group. If you would like to receive this weekly email contact Matt.
