The Rev. Dr. Paul Sprower Koumrian was a beloved Episcopal priest who faithfully served numerous congregations throughout his ministry, including our own community here at St. Andrew’s. Born in Forest Hills, New York, in 1938, Paul pursued his undergraduate studies at Middlebury College before earning his theological degree from the General Theological Seminary in 1967.
Known for his engaging storytelling and creative approach to ministry, particularly with children, Paul brought warmth and a vibrant spirit to every parish he served. His love for jazz music and theater enriched his pastoral work and connected him deeply with those around him.
Over more than four decades of dedicated service, Rev. Koumrian ministered across several dioceses, including Long Island, Connecticut, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. His commitment to faith, community, and spiritual growth left an enduring impact on many lives.
