October is stewardship month!
Acolytes are an important part of our liturgical life at St. Andrew’s, serving at the altar and assisting the clergy to ensure that our worship services run smoothly and reverently. They carry the cross in procession, light and extinguish candles, and help with setting the altar and presenting the offering plates. Their presence not only supports the flow of the service but also invites the congregation into a deeper sense of sacred space and rhythm.
This ministry is open to both youth and adults, and it’s a wonderful way to take an active role in the spiritual life of the church. Acolytes often find that serving in this way helps them grow in their understanding of the Episcopal tradition and strengthens their connection to the wider worshipping community. Training is provided, and new volunteers are always welcome.
