St. Andrew's Postcards

"St. Andrew's Episcopal Church and Vicarage Ayer, Mass."
A summertime image of St. Andrew's Vicarage and Church looking West. The shingles on the Vicarage appear to be unpainted; the porch is open. Between the Vicarage and the Church, there are both a walkway and a driveway. The trees in front of the Vicarage are flourishing. The iron cross on the tower was either down for repairs or removed from the photograph by the printer.
From the founding of the parish in 1889, the Rev. Endicott Peabody, himself Rector at Groton School, referred to the men who served at St. Andrew's also as "rector." At the request of the diocese, to clarify St. Andrew's ongoing relationship with Groton School, in mid-1901 the Rev. Thomas Legate Fisher resigned as "Rector" and took the title "Vicar".
Color; divided back; postmarked August 1911; includes a message; printed about 1910.
