St. Andrew's Postcards

"St. Andrew's Church, Ayer, Mass."
The modernization of Ayer and the rapid expansion of Camp Devens affected St. Andrew's, too. The electric light poles carry telephone wires in this postcard image, although Forest Street on the right is still unpaved. Note the changes to St. Andrew's buildings--the porch on the Vicarage has been enclosed and the steps under the bell tower are missing altogether. The street sign on the telephone pole reads "Tannery St."
We don't know who the three little boys are, but we can assume that they were pretty well known around Ayer after this postcard was printed!
