"Main Street, Looking East, Ayer, Mass."

As this image illustrates, World War I and the rapid expansion of Camp Devens brought prosperity to Ayer. There are plenty of Ford vehicles on Main Street, though one can still see the trolley track running down the right side of the street. Note the three church steeples--on the left is the Federated Church; on the far right are the Baptist Church (tall) and St. Andrew's Episcopal Church (short).
