I.                   Discussion of Possible Energy Efficient Capital Improvements to Rectory and Parish Hall   

A.     Insulation

1.      Russ distributed comparison chart between Icynene and Air-Krete insulation as quoted by Healthy Home, Inc. and All-Weather Green Insulation, respectively

a.      For insulation of Parish Hall exterior walls

i.                    Icynene - $13,500

ii.                  Air-Krete - $11,932

b.      For insulation of Parish Hall ceiling

i.                    Icynene - $9,400

ii.                  Air-Krete - $5,460

c.       For insulation of Rectory exterior walls

i.                    Icynene - $6,900

ii.                  Air-Krete - $5,372

d.      For insulation of Rectory roof

i.                    Icynene - $4,400

ii.                  Air-Krete - $4,772

2.      Both suppliers are Keyspan “Partners”

a.      Making us eligible for $750 rebate for insulation if we changed over to gas heat in the rectory

B.     Installing programmable thermostats

C.     Upgrading furnace

1.      Would receive approximately $1,000 off the cost of the furnace if done in conjunction with insulation

 

II.                “Where to go from here” discussion

A.     Enlist outside help to determine how to improve  energy consumption

1.      ACTION ITEM:  Russ to sign up St. Andrew’s with Interfaith Power and Light (approximate membership fee - $250)

a.      Request energy audit

b.      Investigate buying our fuel thru their cooperative

c.       ACTION ITEM:  Sue to bring heating costs for the last two years to determine Rectory’s usage  

B.     Investigate the rental of the rectory to an organization to be used as a group home for disabled adults

1.      The rental organization may pick up the costs to improve energy efficiency themselves

2.      This would be a wonderful outreach opportunity

3.      This would give us the continuity of one renter for an extended period of time

a.      ACTION ITEM:  Dwight to meet with Seven Hills Foundation on Wednesday at 9:30 AM

 

III.             Ramp

A.     Contractor very interested in supplying the materials

1.      ACTION ITEM:  Jim Western to get a definitive answer from Moore’s about any discount they may give us on the materials

B.     Decision to make the ramp more aesthetically pleasing

1.      Add balusters

2.      Slight reorientation of the ramp

3.      ACTION ITEM:  Jim to discuss with Manny
