Kyle M. Bertulli
Kyle Bertulli began as Minister of Music at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in September 2008, having been recommended for the position by his predecessor, Michael W. Smith, Organist and Choirmaster at nearby Groton School. Kyle came to Michael Smith's attention when he performed an organ recital at Groton School in the spring of 2008.
From 2000 to 2008, he was organist at First Congregational Church of Milford, Massachusetts, where he had been a substitute organist since 1998, when he was 12 years old. From 2007 to 2008, he was concurrently organist at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Northbridge, Massachusetts. He has performed organ recitals at many churches in central Massachusetts, including First Baptist Church in Worcester, First Congregational Church in Milford, St. John's Chapel-Groton School in Groton, Pakachoag Church in Auburn, Trinity Lutheran Church in Worcester, and Wesley United Methodist Church in Worcester. He also served as an accompanist to the Milford First Congregational Choir, Milford Ecumenical Choir, and numerous choir ensembles at the Univeristy of Massachusetts in Lowell.
Kyle Bertulli grew up in Milford, Massachusetts, was awarded scholarships for organ lessons for four consecutive years (2001-2004) from the Worcester Chapter of the American Guild of Organists, and received the Chopin Piano Award from Milford High School at the completion of his senior year. He also received the Christian Profile Award from the First Congregational Church, given to a high school student who displays exemplary leadership both inside and outside the Church.
At the present time (May 2009), he is a senior at the University of Massachusetts in Lowell, majoring in Music Education and Organ Performance. He plans to continue another year to receive his Master's degree in Music Education. He has composed a variety of instrumental works and hymn arrangements for organ, some of which are available for downloading at SibeliusMusic.
